Pruning

All trees during their life require pruning. Whether pruning is extensive or not is determined by the trees condition. Pruning is done to improve health, structure, safety, or a desired structural shape.

A tree care program sometimes is costly at the beginning, but the costs of yearly or bi-yearly pruning, decline to just a closely monitored upkeep cost. Tree care does require upkeep, and should be done by tree care professionals.

The arborist rule of thumb is that no more than 1/3 of the canopy should be pruned at one time. Sometimes this has to be reduced even more. For example over pruning a mature tree, could result in reduced foliage, branch development, or even mortality

Pruning is an ongoing process that takes and requires time. Each tree is an individual and care must be determined accordingly. Some reasons for pruning are :

• Health
• Safety
• Location
• Species

Cabling and Bracing

Cabling and bracing create mechanical support to structurally weak or injured trees and branches. These mechanical supports prevent injuries, such as crotch and branch breakage, which inevitably lead to wood decay. As some structurally weak trees do not benefit from cabling or, bracing, we will use our expertise in determining the needs of your trees as part of our regular maintenance program. Naturally, this practice will extend the life and enjoyment of your trees.

Removals/Possible Removals

At Cambpell Tree Expert Inc. we do not recommend removals unless we have deemed it absolutely necessary. These are all trees that have taken years to achieve the maturity they are at.

If removal has been recommended, you can be assured that this decision was not made lightly. The reason is the tree is a hazard to either the public or property. Also due to tree health.

Some trees on the proposal are noted to inform you that removal could be avoided, but are recommended due to the following :

• upkeep
• cost
• survivability
• structural integrity
• disease

If removal is not desired, Campbell Tree Expert Inc. waives all responsibility for future failures or damage caused by these trees.

Stump Grinding

Stump grinding is a way to eliminate unsightly stumps by grinding them to a depth of approximately 8" to 10" below ground level. This procedure causes light to severe lawn damage around the stump area.
